Anniversary Getaway

September 24th marked our 4th wedding anniversary! When we got married, so many people told us to cherish every moment because the years will fly by. I now realize what they meant. We have had an incredibly journey so far and I am so anxious to see what the future holds for us!

To celebrate, we decided to go to The Arbor Inn bed & breakfast in Prescott, Wisconsin. Our friends Ali & Luke had recommended it and the idea of a four course breakfast sounded divine. The fireplace, jacuzzi and cable made for the perfect relaxing weekend.

Thursday morning we had a 11am tee time at Clifton Highlands before checking into the B&B. It was a sunny morning, but only 45 degrees! We bundled up with several layers and Steve brought me some blankets and hot cocoa in a thermos. What a guy! We pretty much had the course to ourselves since no one in their right mind golfs when it's that cold. :)

Friday morning after our breakfast feast, we drove the Great River Road on both the Wisconsin & Minnesota sides of the Mississippi. It's a beautiful scenic drive with the fall colors, rolling hills and quaint little towns along the way. We stopped at the Maiden Rock Apple Orchard for some apple and wine tasting. Stockholm was our favorite village with adorable shops and views of the river bluffs. We took advantage of the "blue bike project" which is a public bike sharing program. You simply use any of the blue bikes and return it back to any of the racks around town. Genius!
