Neighbors

It's hard to believe that we moved into our new place almost a month ago!  Time has flown by and we are starting to get settled in.  One of the biggest hightlights since moving has been our new neighbors/neighborhood.  They have been so welcoming and hospitable.  One neighbor brought up some homemade strawberry jam and another one made us an amazing chocolate bundt cake!
One day our mailman, Gordy, stopped by to introduce himself and get to know us.  I never knew my mailman's name at our old house and we lived there for five years!  Isn't that such a thoughtful gesture!?

We especially love our direct neighbors.  Sean & Heather (& their daughter Poppy) moved into the neighborhood a couple years ago and have been so helpful sharing their insights and lending a hand whenever we need it.  On the other side Jim & Daisy have lived in the neighborhood for over 35 years! On the 4th of  July we were invited to the "38th Annual Tangletown Celebration."  Everyone in the neighborhood meets at Triangle Park for a mini parade.  The kids decorate their bikes/wagons with flags and streamers.  Then we proceeded to one of the neighbors house for a brunch, games (three-legged race, water balloon toss, etc) and had formal introductions which was awesome for us newbies.

Aside from the people, we also love the location.  We're just a couple blocks from Whole Foods, Breadsmith, Jamba Juice, Mediterranean restaurant, pizza parlor, local florist, Patagonia, etc.  I've also love the vicinity to Summit Avenue & the river for long runs and walks.

We are so thankful for the sense of community in our new neighborhood, it really is a place to call home.

Wow! sounds like a great neighborhood! I love having people near me that have lived there for so much longer than me. There's such a history in our homes.

Hope you're feeling more settled in! Can't wait to see some pictures!
